One of Sydney's most diverse parks, Sydney Harbour National Park is formed from 11 pockets of harbour islands and shoreline. Highlights include coastal walks and swimming, breath-taking viewpoints, tours of colonial buildings and Aboriginal cave art.

The following parts of Sydney Harbour National Park and Kamay Botany Bay National Park are closed until further notice to protect the health and safety of our visitors and staff:
- Shark Beach, Nielsen Park
- Milk Beach, Hermit Beach and Queens Beach, Hermitage foreshore precinct
- Lady Bay Beach, South Head
- Congwong Beach and Little Congwong Beach, La Perouse
- Kurnell Visitor Centre and barbecues, Kurnell
Walking tracks in the park currently remain open. However, visitors are reminded that social distancing and gathering size limits apply.
This situation may change at short notice, changes will be posted here.

Other planned events: NBN Works at North Head
- From 1 October to 31 March each year, the gate is open from 5am to 8.30pm
- From 1 April to 30 September each year, the gate is open from 6am to 6pm
NBN works to install optical fibre cable are underway on North Head for the next 2 weeks. There will be some disruption to traffic along North Head Scenic Drive, roads within Quarantine Station and Collins Beach Road while works are underway.Other planned events: 1080 pest management
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service is doing 1080 ground baiting using manufactured baits, fresh baits and Canid Pest Ejectors (CPEs) in Sydney Harbour National Park. This includes Chowder Bay and Dobroyd, Bradleys, Georges, Middle and North headlands. North Head includes adjoining land of Sydney Harbour Federation Trust, Australian Institute of Police Management, and Quarantine Station.
The program is continuous and ongoing between 1 February 2020 and 31 July 2020. All baiting locations will be identifiable by signs. Don’t touch baits or ejector devices. Penalties apply for non-compliance
Please be reminded that domestic pets are not permitted on NPWS estate. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.
Fox baiting in these reserves is aimed at reducing their impact on threatened species.

Safety alerts: Lower steps on Shark Island Wharf closed

The lower 4 steps of Shark Island Wharf are closed due to a safety hazard. Using these steps for berthing, drop-off and pick-up is prohibited. Access is only possible using the upper stairs.
Small vessels and boats may not be able to berth, particularly at low tide.
