Lane Cove National Park

This small but picturesque city park is a haven of peaceful bushland along the winding Lane Cove River. Home to the Kukundi Wildlife Shelter and 27 km of the Great North Walk, you can also hire a boat, take a stroll or enjoy a picnic by the weir.

Closed areas: Lane Cove National Park visitor precincts closed
Many high visitation areas and facilities in Lane Cove National Park are closed until further notice to protect the health and safety of our visitors and staff. These closed areas and facilities include: 
Riverside walk will remain closed until further notice while staff work to fix extensive flood damage, erosion and unsafe conditions.
Lane Cove Holiday Park is unable to accommodate any camping, including caravans and motor-homes. Staying in cabins is still permitted. Lane Cove Holiday Park can be contacted on 02 9888 9133. 
If you're visiting the park, please be prepared to pay vehicle entry fees with an appropriate payment card.

The NPWS North Western Sydney area office in Lane Cove National Park will be closed from Monday 30 March 2020 until further notice to protect the health and safety of our visitors and staff.

Other planned events: 1080 pest management
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service is doing 1080 ground baiting using manufactured and fresh baits in Lane Cove National Park.
The program is continuous and ongoing between 1 February 2020 and 31 July 2020. All baiting locations will be identifiable by signs. Don’t touch baits. Penalties apply for non-compliance.
Please be reminded that domestic pets are not permitted on NPWS estate. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.
Fox baiting in these reserves is aimed at reducing their impact on threatened species.
